I’m an award-winning senior-level content strategist with a decades-long record of delivering out-sized outcomes for more than 100 national and global brands.

I consult with ownership, executives, VP’s and content and creative teams in audience development, content operations, and related areas of marketing. I’m a curious, data-driven creative with exceptional strategic and execution skills. 

As the owner and principal consultant at Humanmade, I am committed to providing my clients the means to accomplish their business objectives. I am a solo practitioner, with access to a deep network of proven specialists, using a balanced approach of human and artificial intelligence resources. I also work regularly with other consultants in the space depending on client needs.

I collaborate with media and publishing teams, in-house marketing teams, agencies, consultancies, research firms, brand content teams, technical implementation teams, and engineering/dev teams to provide world-class audience insights, strategic content operations guidance, and gap-fill to solve content problems (every digital marketing problem is a content problem).

Developed a five-year strategic omnichannel content plan for Colts-owned media properties. Managed a team of 18 content producers, oversaw all Television, Radio, In-Stadium, Game Day, Web, Mobile, Podcast, Social, etc.

2009-2019: CEO and Founder, Raidious (ACQUIRED)

Lead and managed a 30-person real-time content agency. Pioneered several key concepts in modern marketing. Acquired by regional ad agency Mortenson-Kim (now MKR) in 2019.

2015-2018: President and Founder, Rundown (Sunset)

Designed, built, and launched a first-of-its-kind SaaS content production and resource management platform to automate content production using an algorithm to optimize efficiency. Customers included, Angies List, and several agencies. Sunset in 2018 as part of Raidious acquisition.

2005-2009: VP, Digital Marketing, Meyer & Wallis

Led all digital marketing initiatives for clients of a traditional $40 million dollar advertising agency. More than doubled digital revenue, and established the agency’s digital capabilities, philosophy and approach.

2001-2005: Marketing Director, 92.3 WTTS FM

Created the WTTS brand, as well as the Private Concert Series with artists like Alanis Morrissette, John Mayer, Lenny Kravitz, and other national acts. Designed WTTS Collector’s Edition CD programs. Delivered record audience, revenue and ratings for the station.

1998-2001: Promotion Director, Emmis Communications

Created new programming for sponsorship underwriting for Emmis Radio properties, including Colts, Pacers, Indy 500, and special events like SkyConcert, Raft Race, and more. Set new records each year for incremental non-spot revenue.

1995-1998: Engineer, WRTV-6 News (Indianapolis ABC Affiliate)

Master Control, Audio Engineering, Robotic Cameras, Tape Room, Satellite Operations, and Editing.

1995-1998: Engineer, The Lodge Recording Studios

Marketing and sales for the recording studio, audio engineering and assisting for large orchestra sessions, primarily for the music publishing business. 

1995-1998: Account Executive, 94.3 WREB FM:

Worked on air, in sales, and in promotions for a small 3kW FM station for industry legend Wally Leavitt.


1995-1998: Production Assistant, MVP Productions

Worked as a PA, shooter, editor, animator, and audio engineer for former CVR creative legend Harry Maginity’s video production business.

Raidious built the first social media command center for a Super Bowl, and established concepts like real-time marketing, the brand newsroom, and pioneered the now-standard construct of Owned, Earned and Paid media for the first time.

Citizen One: Founder + CEO - 2022-Present

A hyper-local civic information network for news deserts. 
Citizen One is a hybrid social enterprise organization designed to decouple the profit motive from journalism while providing a tenable path forward to self-sustaining, scalable revenue without reliance on the government, Wall Street, or grants. Citizen One develops hyperlocal news bureaus in K12 school districts, providing all the technology and training required to produce and deliver local news via mobile app.


NFL Club Digital Advisory Committee - 2019

Represented the Indianapolis Colts on the NFL’s Club Digital Advisory Committee, sharing best-practices in audience and content development across the league. 


Volunteer Strategist, United Way 100 Years Campaign - 2017

Developed social media and consumer-generated content strategy as a volunteer for United Way’s 100th-anniversary campaign. 


Member, Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee

Volunteered as a strategic advisor to the Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee on the Digital Communications Team. 


Obama Campaign + Putnam County Democrats

Taulbee volunteered as a local organizer for the Obama campaign in both 2008 and 2012,  and currently consults for the Putnam County Democratic Party.


Other volunteer and community work

Taulbee volunteers as a guest lecturer at a number of different universities in the Great Lakes region. He is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists and the American Advertising Federation. He was a volunteer commissioner and coach for Cloverdale Youth Football League for over a decade and volunteers regularly for his high school alma mater, Cloverdale High School.
